Educational Field Trips
We're planting seeds of knowledge at Schmitt’s Family Farm! Agriculture is part of everyday living, although many students aren't aware of where our food comes from and how it gets to their table. We are a working farm producing crops such as corn, peppers, tomatoes, eggplants, string beans, radishes and of course, pumpkins!
Our hands-on, standards based lessons and tours will educate your students about the life cycle of these crops and the understanding of the many things we get from plants and trees (food, shelter, medicine, oxygen, farming as a career, clothing and more) and how we use those things daily! Your students will also learn about the equipment used by our farmers to cultivate our crops and how they can be farmers in their own gardens.
Our certified teachers and talented assistants have years of classroom and/or administrative experience from preschool through high school including working with children with special needs. We understand your need for a fun, smooth, and well-organized trip that is packed with learning!
